What is an isolated solution?

Isolated solutions (or island solutions) are technical systems only functional within their own boundaries and cannot interact or are compatible with similar or allied systems of environment variables, the opposite is interoperability. For example, isolated solutions can also be found in nuclear power plants to prevent manipulative external interventions.
